Every race is crucial to our championship aspirations – Preview RD2 ProMX!
Every race counts in the pursuit of a championship title, and following a strong yet mixed outing at Round 1 in Wonthaggi, the Factory Honda Team is more focused than ever.
Despite some individual setbacks, the team delivered a commanding performance—winning six out of nine races across four classes and securing victories across every class. The weekend ended with Honda holding the red plate in MX2 (Brodie Connolly) and MXW (Charli Cannon), sitting second in MX3 with Kayd Kingsford, and third in MX2 with Alex Larwood. Kyle Webster opened the MX1 campaign with a win before a heavy crash in race two sidelined him. Meanwhile, Wilson Todd made a promising return to racing after a seven-month injury layoff.
This weekend at the historic Macarthur Motorcycle Club in Appin, NSW, all six Factory Honda riders will return to the gate—albeit with some adjustments. With no Women’s class on the schedule, Charli Cannon will step up to race in the MX2 category against the men.
Kyle Webster, riding for Boost Mobile Honda, knows he must claw back valuable points after his race two crash in Wonthaggi.
“That’s racing—things don’t always go to plan. But I can’t afford to let Jed build a bigger gap. The pressure’s on to ride mistake-free and chase wins. I’ve had two strong weeks on the bike and I’m confident we can turn things around,” said Webster.
Wilson Todd, who’s still recovering from previous injuries, suffered another setback in South Australia last weekend.
“It’s frustrating. I’ve been trying to build back from injury and last week I hit the ground hard again and hurt my chest. I’ll do what I can this weekend, but it’s not ideal,” admitted Todd.
In MX2, Brodie Connolly (Polyflor Honda) enters Appin with the red plate following two commanding wins at Round 1.
“The goal is clear—win every round without taking unnecessary risks. I just need to stay focused, get strong starts, and execute each race the way I know I can,” said Connolly.
Teammate Alex Larwood (National Finance and Loans Honda CRF250RWE) is aiming for consistent podiums after challenging past seasons.
“I’ve been through tough times, but I’m focused on staying up front in every moto. I want to be on the podium at every round and fighting for the championship overall,” said Larwood.
Stepping into the MX2 class this weekend is Charli Cannon (SCT Logistics Honda), fresh off dominant state-level and women’s national performances.
“Racing against the men pushes me to improve—speed, race craft, fitness. I had a fall last week and I’m not 100%, but this is all part of the bigger picture as we prepare for international goals,” said Cannon.
In MX3, Kayd Kingsford (Pro Honda CRF250RWE) is ready to build on his solid season opener.
“Wonthaggi was a good start, but I want more. I’m focused on better starts, racing forward, and collecting maximum points without taking unnecessary risks,” said Kingsford.
